“The number of patients who die each year from hospital errors is equal to four jumbo jets crashing each week.” So stated AARP’s March 2012 Bulletin. But are consumers aware of this data? Do they know which doctors have the best patient outcomes? And why in an age of digitally accessed information is it easier to evaluate a new computer or a hotel room than a doctor or hospital?
